i cut my foot on the beach last week, why does the whole foot hurt?

it was on a broken bottle burried in the sand and was very deep, 2 stitches to the muscle and 11 more including 5 that need removing next week, plus a dozen steri strips. it is on the right edge of my right foot and then bend under to the sole like a nike tick! it really hurt as did the treatment, but it is doing ok now, however i still can’t walk as i get pins and needles in the whole foot that varies between annoying and painful at the slightest pressure. do you know why this is and if its normal and what can help? i have 2 under 5s to take care of and can only hop! ps no signs of infection. thanks!

well i’m guessing that because it was a very deep cut and u needed stitches in the muscle as well as your skin layers, that you have damaged the nerves in your foot

that explains why its sore and why it feel pins and needles, u usually get pins and needles when ur nerves and muscles have no blood supply or because you’ve damaged them

they’ll take longer to heal up, so be patient. If skin grows into a scab in 1-2 weeks, think how long would it take a thick layer of muscle and nerves to re-join and heal

quite a long time..

i’d say it won’t be fully better until a good few months after
