What is special about a Wilson 8802 putter?

In my golf bag has a new set of clubs, but an old "give me" putter, so the old putter really stands out. Every time I'm on the driving range or the club people ask me where I got my putter. Someone once told me "not valuable, but a little weird." Wilson is a 8802 that my grandfather gave me. I tried to investigate to see if there is a story behind it and can not find much. (All I see are ads to buy one.) Does anyone know what this special putter?

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the PGA in 1974. Wilson Golf is celebrating 90 years in the game for the relaunch of his career-Wilson, for the first time in 1960.
